The actual number is a guess. And that guess sits under the largest line item on your P&L.
Budget alignment happens through email threads and calendar holds. Forecast updates lag hiring decisions by weeks. When the board asks why payroll is over plan, nobody can explain the variance because nobody owns the number.
This is what happens when the largest line item on the P&L is governed by coordination instead of infrastructure.

Finance & FP&A
Approved roles do not match active requisitions, and offers reach you after the forecast has moved. See the position behind every forecast commitment before it becomes payroll.
Kinnect for FinanceHRIS & People Technology
Position workflows break across teams, changes happen outside Workday, and Workday gets blamed for the operating model. Govern the position lifecycle without replacing the systems that own the data.
Kinnect for HRISRecruiting & Talent
Stop working roles that changed after you started. Kinnect keeps recruiting activity tied to the position Finance actually approved.

Questions about headcount governance
What is headcount governance software?
Headcount governance software gives Finance, HR and Recruiting one governed system to plan, approve, track and defend every headcount decision. Kinnect routes each hire, backfill and re-org through an approval workflow with the cost attached, keeps positions reconciled with your HRIS and ATS, and shows plan versus actual in real time.
Who is Kinnect for?
Finance and FP&A teams who need to defend a forecast, HR and HRIS teams who own the headcount number, and Recruiting teams who only want to work requisitions that are funded and approved. Each team works from the same positions, budgets and approvals.
Does Kinnect replace Workday or our ATS?
No. Kinnect sits between them. Workday stays the system of record for people and Greenhouse or Workday Recruiting stays the system of record for candidates. Kinnect governs the plan, the approvals and the positions, and syncs with both so the numbers agree. See how the Workday integration works.
How does approval work?
A position request typically routes from the manager to the budget owner. Each approver sees the proposed change and its cost, and approving or denying requires a comment that is recorded in the request history. Approved requests become positions in the Hiring Tracker.
Can we model a re-org before committing to it?
Yes. Scenarios are sandboxed copies of the live org where you can move positions between orgs and cost centers, add seats and compare options against the current structure. Nothing changes in your live systems until a scenario is approved and exported.
How does Kinnect handle security and data access?
Access is role based and lines up with what your HRIS team already enforces in Workday. Manager and budget owner roles are derived from org and cost-center ownership, sensitive data such as compensation sits behind explicit Protected Data capabilities, and your data stays inside your Kinnect tenant. Kinnect connects through standard APIs with no custom Workday configuration.
