Dayforce integration

Enterprise headcount governance for Dayforce

Kinnect integrates with Dayforce to give Finance leaders real-time governance over headcount, without replacing your HRIS.

Standard APIs. Your HRIS stays the system of record for what it owns.

Dayforce and Kinnect connected: Workers and org structure, inbound to kinnect; Positions and their attributes, inbound to kinnect; Supervisory orgs and cost centers, inbound to kinnect; Hire and job change events, where the connector supports it, outbound from kinnect.

What it does

Dayforce and Kinnect, on one position

  • Dayforce stays the HRISKinnect connects to your HRIS to ingest positions, workers and organizations and keeps the approved position as the control point; Dayforce is supported through the same HRIS integration framework. Nothing about how you run Dayforce changes.
  • Kinnect adds the governed positionEvery seat in Kinnect is a position with an owner, a cost center, a budget line and a History. Requests to add, backfill or change a position go through an approval chain with a required comment, so the question "who approved this and when" always has an answer.
  • One bridge to your ATS and planning toolsApproved positions become requisitions in your ATS (Greenhouse is the deep integration, Workday Recruiting is supported, and Lever, iCIMS, Ashby and SmartRecruiters are described at the integration-class level). Finance exports the governed positions, costs and variance evidence as CSV for Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan or Pigment.

Setup

How setup works

  1. Open the HRIS card in Settings > Integrations and enter the credentials for your Dayforce tenant.

  2. Agree the mappings for your org structure, cost centers and position attributes with the implementation team. They are set per customer, not published here.

  3. Run a first headcount load. The Bulk Import template in Settings covers the initial upload if you want positions in Kinnect before the connector is live.

  4. Configure cost center budgets and planned headcount in Settings > Finance so the Finance page reconciles against something from day one.

The Workday connector is the reference for what "deep and bidirectional" means in Kinnect. The Dayforce connector is configured per customer through the same framework; field names, sync schedules and scope are confirmed during implementation rather than claimed on this page.

Who uses it

One integration, three teams

  • Finance

Finance sees every Dayforce position with its cost, budget line and variance on the Finance page, and can drill from a cost center total to the exact positions and events behind it.

  • HR and HRIS

HR keeps Dayforce as the place where people are hired and moved, and gains a governed request and approval flow in front of it, so no position is created without an owner and a budget.

  • Recruiting

Recruiting only works requisitions that started as approved positions. Start Recruiting on an Open position creates the req and hands it to the ATS; the hire flips the position to Filled.

Dayforce integration questions

Does Kinnect replace Dayforce?

No. Dayforce stays the system of record for workers and positions. Kinnect adds the governed position lifecycle, approvals and reconciliation across Finance, HR and Recruiting.

What data moves?

Inbound: workers, positions, supervisory orgs and cost centers. Outbound: hire and job change events where the connector supports it. The Workday connector is the reference for what "deep and bidirectional" means; Dayforce is configured per customer.

How is it set up?

Through the HRIS card in Settings > Integrations, with credentials and mappings agreed during implementation. A Bulk Import template covers a first headcount load.

Which ATS can we pair it with?

Greenhouse (deep) or Workday Recruiting (supported); Lever, iCIMS, Ashby and SmartRecruiters at the integration-class level.

Is Dayforce on every plan?

The pricing page lists Workday rows by tier; other HRIS connectors are scoped on the Enterprise tier under Custom Fields and Integrations. Confirm on a demo.
